Greenfield Community Church, Edmonton, Alberta, invites applications for a full-time hourly contract (35 hours/week) Summer Church Worker, effective May 1, 2024.

The Summer Church Worker position will assist with the various ministries and programs at Greenfield Community Church. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support the Children’s Ministry program at Greenfield by organizing and implementing our Summer Kid’s Community Camp;
  • Organizing kid’s ministry over the summer months (Junior Church) for the summer, including working with volunteers;
  • Helping with building and yard maintenance; and
  • Other work to support the over-all ministry of the church.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience and/or education in a field relating to working with children and must be able to work Sundays. In addition, the ideal candidate will be creative and have excellent communication and administrative skills, relevant experience and educational background, and love working with and providing pastoral care to children and others.

The successful candidate will model a growing Christian life and will be committed to Greenfield’s mission, values, and beliefs. In addition, they must have a satisfactory vulnerable sector check. The pay rate starts at $17.00 per hour. As this position may be funded in part through the generous support of the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must be under 30 years of age.

The Celebration of Life for Werner George Schmidt will be held on Friday April 12th at 1:30 pm at Greenfield Community Church, Edmonton, AB.

We are pleased to announce Ronell Drapeza will be joining our team as part-time Pastor of Worship, effective April 8, 2024.

Ronell started attending Greenfield in August of 2023 with his wife. He is passionate about worship and creative arts, spiritual formation, and theology within the local church. Before Greenfield, he had been working in non-profits. He has recently begun the long journey of an MA in Spiritual Care/Chaplaincy from Providence Seminary, has a BA from The King’s University, and a music certificate from Vanguard College. He enjoys reading and learning, riding a slow 50cc moped, watching comedy specials, playing/watching basketball, producing music, spending time with community, and eating pho. He is married to Anna and has a cat named “Pastor Allendale.”

Greenfield Community Church offers a tuition bursary to members or adherents of Greenfield Community Church to nurture and explore their faith as they pursue higher education in a Christian post-secondary institution.
