What is CORE3?

CORE3 is a 26-week discipleship journey designed to equip followers of Jesus to discover, develop, and live out their unique calling within God’s kingdom. Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-26 Cohort, which is currently scheduled to begin on Thursday September 25th, 2025.

What is the focus of CORE3?

Central to CORE3 is exploring our core commitments as Christ followers to grow in our love for God, one another, and our neighbours. These “three loves” are reflected in the three modules. Within this UP:IN:OUT emphasis, we will focus on developing the character, convictions, and capacity that enable us to change our own lives and also impact the lives of others both inside and outside of our church. For each topic covered in this 26-week journey together, we will investigate some of the postures and practices that are important to internalize while we join God on mission and live out our faith in community with others.

How will I benefit from participating in CORE3?

Participating in CORE3 will:

• encourage your maturity as a follower of Jesus and as someone who impacts the lives of others;
• enable you to gain a clearer vision of your own faith story and your unique gifts and calling;
• allow you to connect deeply with a community of people who are focused on following Jesus; and
• help you better understand the mission and values of Greenfield Community Church.

What will CORE3 involve?

CORE3 does involve a high level of commitment with in-person weekly sessions extending from late September to April.

• Most weekly sessions will take place at the church building on Thursdays from 7:00-9:10 PM.
• Between sessions, participants are expected to invest an additional two to four hours per week studying Scripture, maintaining a journal, and engaging in key practical learning experiences.
• Participants will attend two mandatory Saturday retreats. The first will take place on October 17 & 18, 2025 (as part of our All Church Conference), and the second one in mid-April 2026.
• Participants are expected to meet with a mentor on at least a monthly basis to discuss their discoveries along the way.
• The program fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of materials, assessments, guest speaker honorariums, and retreat participation. Participants who are unable to pay the full cost, may be eligible to receive a bursary from the church, and can indicate this on the application form.

What will the weekly sessions be like?

Each session will incorporate a variety of methods and activities:

• Presentations from experienced and insightful speakers
• Meaningful group discussions and sharing
• Hands-on learning activities (some which may be off-site)
• Group reflection on Scripture
• Praying for one another

Who will be guiding this process?

Pastor Tyler and Pastor Caley will facilitate CORE3 for 2025-26 with additional experienced presenters drawn from within the Greenfield family and the Edmonton area.
