On this Palm Sunday Pastor Tyler will be preaching the first of a two-part message on Revelation 21:1-22:5 in his sermon, “A New Heaven & A New Earth” (John’s Vision of the Renewal of All Things). For more information on our teaching series, Revelation: Following the Way of the Lamb see hereOur gatherings are live-streamed from our webpage and at our YouTube channel (youtube.com/@GreenfieldCommunityChurch). Sunday School. This week, kids aged two to grade nine will dismissed from the sanctuary to the big group Sunday School downstairs. If your child is grade three or under they will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian at the end of our gathering. The nursery is open for the entirety of our Sunday Gatherings.

 

Easter Week. Join us at 10am on Good Friday (March 29) as we reflect on Christ's suffering with a traditional Tenebrae Service. Then on Easter Sunday we will gather to celebrate Christ's resurrection with joyous worship and two baptisms.

Greenfield Book Club.  Next meeting is March 26, 7:30pm upstairs in the boardroom. Dr. Will Van Arragon (Professor of History at King's) will join us as we discuss Mark Noll's The Civil War as a Theological Crisis. For more information and to be included on reminder emails, join the group here.

 

The next Hymn Sing will take place at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church (10603 Ellerslie Road SW) this Sunday, March 24 at 6 pmPlease note that the time has moved back to a 6 pm start time during Daylight Savings time. Refreshments to follow, bring something to share (open face buns, sandwiches, desserts).  

 

 

Bros, Brews, and Bible. We have a couple things coming up in the month of April. First, we need to get a crew together to help Haroon & Reeba move into their new house on Saturday April 6th. Second, we are hosting Soup Sunday on Sunday April 7th... so let's see who can make the best chili! For more information and to sign up for either event, please see our Church Center app here.

 

 

Seniors Easter Lunch, April 3rd at 11:30AM. Come out for an Easter lunch and a time of gathering together. Sign up at the Welcome Centre or by contacting Pastor Chris. If you are attending, please bring a salad to share.

 

We need projection volunteers to help during our Sunday Gatherings! It's easy to learn and a great way to serve here at Greenfield. Email Kirsten to sign up.

NAB Triennial. Register for the 2024 Triennial, taking place in St. Paul, Minnesota, July 11–14, 2024. The theme of the 2024 Triennial is “Becoming a People of Peace.”

Greenfield is hosting a Safe Families Information and Dessert Night Wednesday April 10th at 7PM. Enjoy dessert and learn more about Safe Families and the work this Christ-centered organization does in our city. 

 

Soup & Bannock at the Edmonton Native Healing Centre. Join Pastor Tyler for lunch to get to know some of our Indigenous neighbours on Wednesday April 17th (11:45am). Contact Pastor Tyler if you are interested in joining him (the space will be limited). 

 

White Cross. We are looking for anyone who enjoys sewing to do some simple sewing projects at home.  Any questions, contact Teresa.

 

Save the Date! Greenfield's Summer Kids Camp this year is running from July 29-August 2, 9am-noon and is for any kid aged 4 - grade 4. Registration opens in May. 

 

We are partnering with Dayspring Presbyterian to sponsor a refugee family to resettle in Edmonton. We are excited to announce that the Soudmand family has been approved to immigrate to Canada, and will be arriving in the next 3-6 months. We have committed $12,000 towards this project and have currently raised $6,350. If you would like to give to this project, indicate "Refugee Resettlement Fund" on your donation. Any funds raised beyond the $12,000 for this particular Dayspring project will be used toward future sponsorship opportunities through Greenfield. 


There are a number of Ukrainian newcomers who are looking for temporary hosts as they settle into life in Edmonton and figure out permanent housing. See here for details, if you are interested in hosting.
